As a John S. Knight Fellow at Stanford University, I worked on a prototype Emergency Publishing Toolkit, to help communities gather, verify and share targeted information in the event of a crisis.
In the aftermath of a tornado, a hurricane, an earthquake or a shooting, communities have hyperlocal information needs, often in the midst of unstable infrastructure. The Emergency Publishing Toolkit would contain guidelines on how to share information using everything from a Facebook group to a handwritten bulletins stuck to a wall using homemade glue.
